I am currently residing in Mohali, Punjab on rent originally from Mumbai, my friend who lives in Mumbai currently was looking for PG on Magicbricks mobile app.

She gave me the details of the PG and I contacted them. The PG is called Sachin PG with the address of Bandra West

The PG owner demanded a deposit of Rs.2000 which I first argued but he said it’s for issuing a visiting card for the PG room if we don’t like the PG room we can get our money refunded. I did the payment

Next he obliged for Rs.4999 and said Rs.99 will be refunded I did so. Next he said I submitted wrong amount so I need to pay Rs.4099 to make the proper transaction. I did that too.

After that he said since I’ve done many payments the transaction is stuck and I have to do a lump sum amount of Rs.9099 and the rest will be given back to me. I argued with them but I recorded the call and did so.

Then they played the same trick, but now I realised I was being scammed and demanded refund. And only then I’ll continue the conversation
Total amount I was scammed were Rs.20,197

From there I reported to Cybercrime online, then informed my bank and currently informing the physical cybercrime cell in Mohali as I was scammed while I’m in Mohali, Punjab.

The problem is why is Magicbricks claiming this PG as their “Verified Partner” when they have not verified them. If they had verified they wouldn’t do this.
