I booked a round trip flight ticket on DEL-BOM sector using the Paytm app on 1st March 2020 with Paytm booking ID: 10445233431 at 12:24 AM. I was also given an option to select a seat of my choice . I selected seat 13D for both the onward and return journey. I was charged INR 900 + 900 for the seats and INR 8707 for the journey.
Unfortunately when I tried to check-in on the airline website, I found that my seat 13D is not blocked and the airline is prompting me to choose the seat, pay for it and then continue. I called Paytm on the afternoon of March 2nd with them promising that they will get back in 4 hours. That never happened and I called again that same night, the Paytm travels & hotels number given on their app. I had a heated exchange with their CS , they transferred the call to one Mr. Azam Mohammad in the escalation team who promised prompt action within 24 hours from their back end team.
Today, it is the 6th of March and till now the seat for which I paid Paytm has not been blocked on the aircraft. I am a tall person with height 6feet 2 inches and I always block this seat, even though I have to pay a hefty amount as I cannot sit on the other seats with limited leg space. I called Paytm Travel CS again just now and the same process of screaming at the CS executive and transferring the call to the escalation team , was repeated. Again I was promised the seat and I was asked to wait, the time of wait not being committed.
If Paytm has no authority to block the seats on an aircraft, why does it take payment from the customer for the same ?
I have gone through a lot of turmoil since the last 5 days, have lost my temper and time. I need compensation and the refund of the money taken for the seats.
