Text of Complaint by Sandip Tripathy:

I made a payment of three months broadband rental online on 2nd July and was told that my broadband be installed in 48hrs. An executive called me on 3rd July and fixed the appointment for installation, 11am on 4th July. When nobody landed or called till 12noon I started calling 121 and they said they are escalating the matter and I should expect a call back from them in an hours time (call recorded with me). It was 2oclock , no call, this time I called up the person who had collected the payment Mr.Ramen Shaw (his phone was not reachable all this while) and he gave me the number of the person incharge of installation team Mr.Swadesh. He sent two executives who said that the box through which my connection is to come in is down and went away. I called up Mr.Swadesh who told me that the box would be up by 6th and installation completed by 7th and that he would update me the status on 6th. On asking that how is it that they dont even know that the box is down when other customers are being serviced and their broadband must be down he had no answer.

After waiting for whole day on 6th I called up Mr.Swadesh at 5pm but he didnt answer the call. Tried calling him again on 7th morning repeatedly but he didnt answer any call. Now I opened my Airtel Thanks App and to my surprise found that a landline number and a broadband connection are being shown as active in my account and billing cycle for the same having begun on 3rd July. Seeing this I called up Mr.Shaw who refused to accept that airtel thanks app could show any of these even after I sent him screenshots and then he started blaming the company (call recorded). Immediately after I hung up Mr. Swadesh called up on being briefed by Mr. Shaw. This time he had another new story and told me that installation would be done by 8th. Today, on 8th, I have called him repeatedly since morning but he is not answering my calls.

I have been tweeting to airtel since 3rd of July but all they reply is they need a little time. 5 days is not “little time for them”.

I want my order to be cancelled and money refunded ASAP as I do not want this connection. I can imagine the service I am going to get after installation and how good the connectivity is going to be.
