First of all, let me tell you one thing..I’m highly disappointed with the customer service of Airtel..it’s so pathetic and not customer friendly at all.
I wanted to port my 2 nos : 9906182101 and 9622187112 to Jio as they have better plans. I requested for port(in Sept) after which I got a call from Airtel and they offered me a low cost 249 plan which would cost be around 291 including GST.
I agreed to stay back with Airtel and requested them to activate the aforementioned plan on my 2 nos.
They confirmed activating the new plan and it was during last week of Sept. Now in Nov(21st), I received the bills still as per the old plan and when I called customer service, they confirmed that the bill plan was still not changed…I told them that I needed the bill plan to be changed immediately and also the previous bill should be as per the new bill plan and I should be given waiver as it’s Airtel’s mistake that they haven’t changed the plan yet.
Here’s the Service request no for the call I had with Jastinder( Senior customer care) : 104782232189. She assured me that this issue would be sorted out and the plan will be changed and waiver also taken care of.
I called again today(25th Nov), but to my utter disbelief and surprise, they told me that the no 9906182101 still had the old plan. My call was transferred to senior customer care(Shagufta). I’m sorry to say she was not sensitive to my issue/query at all. I kept on telling her that I requested for bill plan change in Sept and I got confirmation for the same(I told her the complete story till today) but she kept on saying that I’ll have to pay the bill as per the generated bill (i.e as per the old plan).This is same as placing an online order for a product x but you are delivered product y and then you are forced to keep the product as it has already been shipped. On top of this when they initially offered me the new plan at 249 they just told me the amount but had a hidden clause that this new bill plan will be revised after 1 year. I came to know about this hidden clause only today from the customer care. Had they told me this thing right when I wanted to port my number, I’d have never stayed with Airtel.
This is pure customer exploitation / over charging / cheating with the customers.
I want my previous bills for the above mentioned 2 nos to be revised as per the new plan offered and if they cannot give me 249 plan forever, I want to go ahead with port and take this to consumer court for the deceit/cheating Airtel has done with me and above all wasted my precious time.
