Text of Complaint by Ankur Parashar:

Dear Consumer Complaints Court,

My Tatasky subscriber ID is: 1195401094

Recently after being advised from Tatasky customer care representative on 23rd April, 2019 I requested a multi-tv connection at my home as per following inputs from them:

  1. Charges for new STB (set top box): 1699/-
  2. One month of viewing for the new STB @ no additional cost
  3. INR 400/Month for the new STB after 1 month free.
  4. The customer care representative insisted that INR 400/- cannot be a one-time charge and need to paid each month.
  5. There will be no changes to existing account (or master account)

The expiry date on my account before the multi-tv connection was 6th October 2019.

Then, as advised by the installation engineer, I recharged my account with INR 1700/- on 23rd April for the multi-tv connection STB.

But soon after this re-charge the expiry date on my account has changed to 16th August 2019.

To understand this expiry date change, I contacted Tata Sky Customer Care representative a day later on phone and to my surprise, the representative told me that this expiry date has changed as a result of charges debited (or adjusted) towards my new multi-tv connection and there is no such thing such as 1 free month.

This is totally inconsistent to what the tata sky representative told me on 23rd April 2019, before I requested a multi-tv connection and to what was offered to me before purchasing the muti-tv connection.

I also raised a complaint with Tatasky on this matter 2 times, following are the request number:

  1. Request number 1FOCS0Z9 dated 25.04.2019
  2. Request number 1FVYW9L8 dated 29.04.2019

On, both the requests there is a only a verbal response from TATA SKY call center that, there has been a miscommunication from TATA SKY customer care on the multi-tv connection charges and 1 month cannot be given free, the expiry date has changed because of additional charges for new multi-tv connection and they regret any inconvenience caused due to the same.

But, this is more than inconvenience, I feel sort of a cheated consumer from Tata sky because they enticed me firstly to get a connection by offering 1 month free and later after I made the payment they over charged me.

I request the authorities to please take notice of such forgery from Tata sky and reprimand them for their behavior.

Thanks.

Yours Truly,

Ankur Parashar
