I am writing to formally file a complaint against an online lending platform called Moca Moca, which I believe is operating without proper registration from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is engaging in unfair and abusive lending practices.
I have reason to believe that Moca Moca is not a registered lending or financing company as required under Republic Act No. 9474 (Lending Company Regulation Act of 2007). Despite this, they continue to operate online, offering loans with excessively high interest rates and unreasonable payment terms.
In addition, the company’s representatives have been calling and messaging nonstop, using harassing and threatening language, which has caused me undue stress and anxiety. These actions may also constitute a violation of the Data Privacy Act of 2012, as they appear to be accessing personal contacts and private information without consent.
I am respectfully requesting that the SEC investigate the operations of Moca Moca and take appropriate legal actions to stop their illegal lending activities and protect consumers from their abusive practices.
