Text of Complaint by Devesh Jain:

Oneplus had issued a buggy update of android 12 due to which thousands of customers using Oneplus 7T, 8T, 9 & 9R got a green line on display. I am one of those customer using OnePlus 7T which got green line on their display after updating the phone with the latest version of Android 12.
Upon contacting Customer Care through their OnePlus Care center in the Elpro city Mall, Pune, their representative assured me that many users are facing the issue after the latest update & the faulty display will be replaced for all such devices, even those which are out of warranty, provided there is no physical or water damage on the phone and get the display replaced free of cost after they make sure there is no physical or water damage.

On 08.04.2023, I visited the service centre in the morning for the same & their representative told me that few days back they received an internal policy for not replacing the display free of cost for phones older than 24 months from the date of purchase. Also, he claimed that my phone is having very minor dent which is not at all visible by eye, so it will not be replaceable. He said that the replacement cost for the new display is around Rs. 14,500. Many users have this problem just after updating the software in mobile phone and even company is accepting this issue.

This is a big fraud that the One Plus company is doing by damaging the phones by issuing OTA Updates full of bugs that cause the hardware to malfunction & causing the customers to shell out their hard earned money to repair a perfectly well maintained phone for which they had paid a fortune in the first place.
Thousands of people all over India and the world are facing the same issue since the update causing their cheap quality hardware imported from CHINA to malfunction due to the buggy software update issued by the company.
Please take cognizance of the actions of the company and provide swift justice by having them replace their faulty display free of cost at the earliest!

  1. I too have been facing the same issue.
    I just updated my software which OnePlus pushed as security update and now a green line has appeared from nowhere in my screen.
    This is a new technique to loot customers by taking 15,000 in the name of screen repair.
    Fyi, my phone is like brand new and there is no external damage or anything.
