Hello myself Sandesh Parab
an OLX customer since last 4 years and I had brought many product through this app.
But three days back I have been cheated for Honda activa 5g scooter, I saw an ad on OLX for same scooter and the add was posted by Mr Aiyaz Shaikh ( seller) on which I have shown my interest and seller shared his contact number …so next day I called him and inquired about the scooter, In our talk he told he is from defence and currently posted at Belgaum and permanent residence of Panvel and later he had shared scooter pics and original RC pics on WhatsApp and we close the deal for Rs 24000/-
He insisted to transfer Rs 4000- as advance to initiate the parcel via Army parcel service in which they will deliver the scooter and balance amount has to paid on delivery and for shipment he asked my ID proof and delivery address.
as the seller is from defence and everything which he was saying built my confidence to close the deal, so i had transferred the advance against which he shared a delivery slip along with vehicle packing pics and delivery need to happen next day.
and next day i got call from Army deliver service team saying they cannot deliver due to some improper details and you are not relative or family member to the seller you need to pay Rs 11000 + Rs 500 fees that too immediately to clear the delivery process, once you pay this amount I will receive a confirmation on mail then he will deliver the scooter so I told him let me talk to the seller for the same after disconnecting the call the true caller name was showing him as fraud …same time i called him back and said to attend my WhatsApp video call which he refuse and the i called seller and told him to come on video call and he also refused by saying you should trust us we are from defence…..later both started calling me turn by turn to pay and accept the delivery but i strongly refuse to pay on which they told the parcel will go back and you will not get the money back.
Later upon the searching for the challan on net i came across many complaints raised with similar situations. and i am unable to locate the ad on OLX now as they have already declared him as a suspicious
