Text of Complaint by Dharshne S:

I am writing to formally raise a consumer complaint against Airtel for not honoring the promised OTT subscription benefit associated with my postpaid plan.

At the beginning of this year, I subscribed to an Airtel postpaid plan that included various perks—one of which was a 1-year free subscription to jio+ Hotstar. However, just three months after activation, my Hotstar subscription was abruptly discontinued.

When I visited the Airtel office to report the issue, I was informed that the subscription was still active from their end, and I was advised to contact the OTT partner directly. Upon reaching out to Jio+ Hotstar support, I was told that while my number initially had a 1-year subscription, it was later downgraded to a 3-month plan by the service provider (Airtel).

Following this, I raised the issue with Airtel multiple times via email, but I have not received any response or resolution to date.

This is a clear case of misrepresentation of service benefits and failure to provide promised offerings, which is in violation of consumer rights. I kindly request your intervention to ensure that the 1-year subscription to Disney+ Hotstar, as promised at the time of purchase, is reinstated or that appropriate compensation is provided.
