On 6 th May on my Tatasky app the monthly recharge amount shown was Rs. 482. There was also an offer that if I recharged it for 12 months I would get one additional month free. Going by the monthly amount shown on the app I recharged my account with Rs 5784 which was 12 times the monthly subscription shown. However when I checked later I found that I was given only half a month free. I called the helpline. They told me that the monthly amount was 482.40 and therefore I should have paid Rs 4.80 more. I pointed out that the monthly amount shown on my Tatasky app was Rs 482. If it should have been 40 paise more then the fault was with the Tatasky app. I simply used the figure shown on the app. Why should I be cheated out of the free month for a fault that was of Tatasky and not mine? I also offered to pay the additional Rs. 4.80 so that I get the full free month. If I paid Rs 5784 I could easily have paid another five rupees if the app had shown the correct amount. Since the fault was not mine, and I remained prepared to pay additional five rupees, I requested that I should be given the full free additional month. One call centre person understood and admitted that the mistake was of Tatasky in showing the rounded figure of Rs 482 and that he was forwarding the complaint to higher ups and that the mistake would definitely be resolved in my favor. However, nothing happened. After some days I spoke to Tatasky help again and explained the whole situation once again and received another promise that the issue would be resolved very soon. Nothing happened to rectify the situation. After some time I called again. Subsequently, instead of giving me full free month, I received an email saying that the case has been closed.
I am greatly upset at the totally unreasonable and unhelpful stance taken by Tatasky. I am being cheated out of the full free month for a mistake that Tatasky made, not I. I am even prepared to pay additional Rs 5 if that is required. I find all this very customer unfriendly and high handed on the part of Tatasky.
In filing this complaint I hope you will rectify the situation and give me full free month. I have been a customer of Tatasky for very many years, and feel angry and frustrated at the treatment given to me.
I hope to hear from you soon. If I fail to receive satisfaction even after this mail, I am afraid I would be tempted to opt out of Tatasky in future. Let me also point out that half a month free subscription is not a big amount, either for me or Tatasky. What bothers me is the totally bureaucratic and unhelpful manner in which the Tatasky is dealing with the complaint when the mistake in the first place is of Tatasky itself.
