I purchased a prepaid SIM 4 years back under my name. I submitted my AADHAR and voter  id as address proof.

After marriage in Jun 2016 the number was included in a family plan the sim connection got transferred to my husband’s name automatically. It is the default system of Airtel. My husband was not asked to get NOC from me. He didn’t submit any document proof like marriage certificate, Aadhar Card or Voter id. So can any XYZ walk in to an Airtel showroom request to include a number in family plan and get it transferred to his name?

I’m not in talking terms with him for the past one year. We are going to get divorced. If he stops paying the mobile bill should I forget this number? I requested you to TRANSFER IT BACK TO MY NAME you keep parroting you require NOC from him. It is my permanent number linked to my Aadhar and Bank. Is this the respect you give to your 4 years customer? HARASSING A POOR WOMAN TO PROVIDE A NOC FROM HER ESTRANGED HUSBAND.

I told I’m ready to even port. But you are not allowing me to that too. Not giving any practical solution.

To transfer a connection from wife’s name to husband’s name no NOC is required. But to transfer a connection from husband’s name to wife’s name you require NOC (that was originally in wife’s name) What kind of a rule is this? Isn’t this gender inequality?

I said I will give his email id and contact number. You are not ready to contact him. Not providing me assistance in any manner and causing me mental trauma.

If you fail to provide me a solution. I’m dragging Airtel to court and give a complaint to TRAI.
