I purchased SIM some 8 years ago at that time they gave me validity till 2038. I am an old man and seldom go out and no need for mobile internet wifi at home is enough for me. But in 2018 May when my wife was hospitalized and I needed to book cab from outsides I felt the need for mobile internet and purchased Rs92/- Airtel internet pack for 28 days 1GB per day pack for two times. between May and August. After that I got SMS from Airtel telling me that validity of my SIM is expiring from so and so date outgoing services will be stopped, recharge with RC35/- message despite there is enough balance. I approached the Airtel counter to find out what this is about, they said my old validity is gone. Now I have to buy these internet packs whether I use internet or not. Next one more SMS came asking me I should pay another 23/- since there is revision of tarifs. I do not need mobile internet. I also do not frequently talk over cell phone. Why should they penalize me by cancelling my old validity and insist on purchasing packages frequently just to keep validity alive ?
