I have used a fancy mobile number for the past 15 years, which happened to be in many mobile networks. I have been using it on the airtel mobile network for the past 6 years and now suddenly they have blocked my Simcard stating some document-related reason, rejected by the Government of India. Now since it is a fancy number, to get back my own Simcard, they’re charging me Rs.25,000 as vanity charges. I incidentally took a duplicate sim card just a few months back (May 2022). If there’s any such issue, they should’ve uploaded my document while the re-issue right? My mobile number is so crucial to me, that I’ve incurred a huge opportunity cost too. It’s been disconnected from 18th Nov’22 and since then it is not working.
