Text of Complaint by chetan chatrath:

I moved to another country, however still was using my Airtel postpaid number to receive important SMS. All of a sudden the number stopped working in Nov’20 and after contacting Airtel they said that the SIM needs to be replaced and for that I need to go to the Airtel branch and provide certain documents and get it replaced. I told them that I was not in India and was not planning to be coming back for the next year and they asked me to courier certain documents along with my blood relation’s (brother’s) ID as he would be collecting it on my behalf. I had sent the documents in Nov’20 itself which as per the courier service mentioned that was delivered on 10th Dec’20. After numerous followups Airtel team mentioned that they have not received the documents. I asked them what can be done as an alternative. After 2 weeks of regular followup they asked me to send the scanned copy of the documents. I sent them the scanned copy of the documents in Jan’21 and have been sending them regular followup email to which I just get an autogenerated email stating that the team is looking into the issue and will take this up on priority. It is March’21 now and my number has not been working since 5 months but they are not paying any heed to the problem that I am facing. I am not sure what does priority mean to them. I am really fed up with the service provided by AIRTEL
