My 8-year-old working Airtel number was suddenly disconnected last week without any reason.
There was no notification, no call or text regarding the same.

The first day (30th November) my outgoing was stopped, and the next day everything stopped, and the network was gone.

It is causing me a great deal of inconvenience as it was my primary number that was always recharged on time. My bank accounts, credit cards, office work, and government documents are all linked to this number. As a result of the OTP/SIM issue, I cannot use payments apps/UPI or make any online transactions using debit cards or credit cards.

Follow up so far with Airtel:
The day when it was disconnected last week, I immediately contacted the customer care 2-3 times but they gave random reasons of damaged sim, recharge not done, sim version is outdated, document problem etc. and asked me to visit the Airtel store only.

Currently I’m in my hometown and the Airtel store is 25km from home in Ratlam (M.P.) but as this critical issue for me as I visited the Ratlam Airtel store on 2nd December but didn’t get any help saying ‘Sir is not available’. As my everyday life is getting impacted without my SIM not working (no OTP for banking or other transactions), I visited the Airtel store again the next day (3rd December).
Today I was told that my number is permanently disconnected and nothing can be done now. When I asked what the reason was, they said they didn’t know.
I asked what is the solution now, they asked if your SIM is from AP circle then go there only and check. No help from here.

I tried customer care once again in hope to get some help but again they said the number is permanently disconnected and they can’t find it in their database and nothing can be done.
I trusted Airtel over all other operators but looks like I was wrong, so wrong. Not expected this kind of service from Airtel.

I need my same Airtel number back.
Please understand the problem here, I have always recharged my number and using it since 8 years, not sure what happened at your end and you decided to disconnect it.
This number is linked with everything in my life and I can’t buy a new number again and go to banks/offices to link the new number.
I’m also afraid of the SIM cloning case now, this number may be allotted to someone else and they may use it to withdraw money from my bank accounts.

Please help to check this issue with high priority.
Please understand the severity of this issue for me and HELP !!
