I got a call from a woman who claimed she was calling from amazon and that I was getting rewarded as a part of promotional offer by Amazon. She asked me to choose from 3 options which included Sony Bravia LED 4k ultra HD smart tv, iPhone 11 and there was a third option too. I chose Sony Bravia. She told me that I would have to shop for at least 5k to be eligible to activate that reward. I did that. Then she transferred the call to senior who asked me to pay GST charges starting from 4,999 followed by 7,000 and then 12009₹. It didn’t stop here. They told me that they will refund my amount I’ve to follow few more steps and extracted more 26,498 twice followed by 9,999 being last. They even asked me to apply promo code to get refund but it was all a trick and I realised it too late. I felt like a fool. I’ve been continuously calling them and threatening them to refund my hefty amount but they disconnect my phone every time. I’ve been scammed badly. They even shared fake id’s when I asked for their authenticity. The worst part is that they had almost all information about my Amazon profile which made me believe them till the end until it finally hit me that I had been conned. I don’t know what to do. I read that this scam has been going on since 2018 which is shocking and shameful. People have lost thousands and lakhs of money to these fraudulent bank accounts. Money can be earned back but these losers need to be taught a lesson once and for all. They should go behind the bars now. High time. They waste your time, energy, take away your hard earned money and peace of mind. They will surely pay for it one day. God is watching them. If we don’t get justice here, I’m sure we will get justice hereafter.
