We are currently traveling in the US. Before flying we called Airtel to make sure no roaming packs can be turned on without our permission and only need the phone for incoming SMS to receive OTP. The agent told us its free incoming SMS and Calls and no roaming packs can be automatically activated without asking us or contact us. Fast forward to a few weeks in US, we get charges for incoming calls (even if its for a few seconds) a daily pack of $649 gets turned everytime the phone rings or settings of mobile data turned on or off. These phones are used by my old parents who dont understand the movement of these charges on a daily basis without using data or making calls causing them a lot of stress. I have called multiple times, escalated complaints 8-9 times to resolve this by reducing these roaming charges, asking to block roaming pack activation automatically multiple times. They dont resolve it and still keep charging. I have spent almost 7-8 hours with them on the phone till now. This is very stressful and by far the worst customer service experience I ever had.
