Text of Complaint by Bhargavi K:

I am filing this complaint as a consumer who was misled, financially burdened, and emotionally distressed due to the unethical and non-transparent practices of HeyCoach.

On July 8, 2025, I enrolled in HeyCoach’s DSA and System Design course after an onboarding call with their representative, Mr. Vipin. I paid a ₹5,000 processing fee and proceeded with an education loan application through GyanDhan, financed by HDFC Credila.

Due to personal reasons, I reached out to Vipin shortly after payment to discuss the possibility of withdrawing from the course. That’s when he suddenly stated that the program was completely non-refundable, which was never communicated to me before. His abrupt and defensive response immediately made me suspicious about the legitimacy and transparency of the process.

I became deeply concerned because:

– No admission ID or official confirmation was shared with me after payment
– No onboarding communication or welcome email was ever received
– Multiple calls went unanswered, and the few email responses I received were vague and unprofessional

At this point, it became clear to me that this might not be a genuine, student-first platform. I felt misled and possibly scammed, especially after realizing that no terms and conditions about refund or cancellation had ever been shared with me in writing prior to payment.

On July 9, well within the loan’s 3-day cool-off period, I requested cancellation of the course and the loan. Later, I also formally emailed the HeyCoach team on July 17, requesting:

1. Cancellation of enrollment
2. Refund of the ₹5,000
3. Issuance of an NOC so that the disbursed loan could be cancelled with the lender

Despite these repeated efforts, HeyCoach has:

– Refused to issue the NOC
– Denied refunding the processing fee
– Claimed a no-refund policy without ever providing any proof that I agreed to such terms

This behavior directly violates Clause 15.8 of the loan agreement, which clearly states:

“In case of premature withdrawal from the course… the borrower shall submit NOC from the institute and arrange credit for proportionate refund and foreclosure amount to the lender.”

Since no service was ever provided — no onboarding, no classes, no material — and withdrawal was requested before the program even began, their refusal to refund or cooperate is unethical and exploitative.

As a result, I am now under unwanted financial burden and emotional stress caused by their deceptive handling of this situation.

I am requesting the following:
1. Immediate cancellation of the loan that was processed in my name
2. Full refund of the ₹5,000 paid to HeyCoach
3. Issuance of the required NOC as per Clause 15.8 of the loan agreement
4. Consumer action against HeyCoach for their misleading conduct, lack of transparency, and non-responsiveness
I hope Consumer Complaints Court will take urgent action to ensure this matter is resolved and that other consumers are protected from similar harm.
