I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and seek compensation for a significant loss I incurred due to the sudden cancellation of my flight booking with GoAir. Here are the details of my booking:
Booking Date: 18th April
Travel Date: 4th May
Cost of Booking: INR 4882
Additionally, I had made the following non-refundable bookings in connection with my travel plans:
Train from Delhi to Lucknow (IRCTC): INR 1500
Hotel Booking in Lucknow (Cleartrip): INR 3524
Return flight from Lucknow to Mumbai (Cleartrip): INR 4407
I had meticulously planned this trip, which included attending a friend’s wedding, and had made these bookings in advance to save costs, considering my middle-class background. However, GoAir’s abrupt flight cancellation left me in a precarious situation. The alternative flight options available to me were priced exorbitantly, exceeding INR 20,000, which was beyond my budget constraints. Consequently, I had no choice but to cancel my entire travel itinerary.
As a result of GoAir’s flight cancellation, I suffered a total financial loss amounting to INR 14,313. I firmly believe that I should not bear the burden of this loss, as it was a direct consequence of GoAir’s actions.
I kindly request that GoAir take responsibility for the financial damages I have incurred due to the cancellation of my flight and compensate me accordingly. I expect GoAir to reimburse the entire amount of INR 14,313, which is the sum of the losses I sustained.
