I wanted a short loan recently to pay for my educational expenses. my salary was delayed so I downloaded this app called rupeeway. It had 150000+ downloads and mostly 5star reviews. It was my first time and it asked for my kyc. I did the kyc and it said loan amount for me will be 3000-8000 and remaining due dates interest etc in the form. Clearly reading this I thought after submitting I will get to choose the loan amount and review what is the repayment dates and interest look like. Then I saw it said application submitted and within a few seconds it was passed and I got a loan of 2000rs which was not even mentioned and they sent me 1200rs and I have to pay back 2014 rs in 7days. where is the 800rs. I tried contacting them but later say they have no website, all the reviews online say they are a fraud, they brought fake google accounts and did 5 star reviews and the only 1 star reviews were from real people. the app mail was outlook and no one replied and the telegram link was not working. I then went to telegram manually typed the company name and found out they have multiple accounts. I texted them and they say 800rs is processing charge. this is a scam they did not mention all this.
