The fridge had open box delivery and I was asked by the delivery person to not to operate the fridge for approximately 3-4 hrs. as the compressor needs time to settle down (as the item was on transit). When I started removing plastics and cello tapes from the fridge’s body, I found a sizeable damage cleverly hidden under a piece of cello tape. The delivery was under exchange (of my old fridge). Seems they planned it in such a way that the customer is unsettled a bit. The delivery came one day prior it’s schedule and early morning on a Sunday. The main focus shifted to vacate the old fridge than removing all plastics/cello tapes from the new fridge’s body (that are plenty on a new product) and check what’s hidden underneath.
The seller refused 4-5 replacement requests till now but I am creating a new request everyday immediately after rejection. This is continuing since last Sunday till today. I GOT ZERO SUPPORT FROM FLIPKART CUSTOMER CARE ON THIS. They are singing in the same tune as the seller. The return/replacement window will end today as it was available for 7days only. I suffered and took the loss (maybe the seller sent me a “factory seconds” item that are normally available at half the normal price). Anyway, what i realized is, open box delivery is ok for smaller items like cloathes, mobiles etc. But for bigger items like the one I bought or for furnitures or an AC etc. it’s not practical. This may work as support for cheaters. Better to buy such items locally.
