Dear sir, My Grandmother passed away on 12 Feb 2021 and to attend the Funeral i had to book in urgency because the funeral was scheduled on next day 13 Feb 2021 at 12:00PM. Due to non-availability of Direct flight to Varanasi , i have chosen according to the plan provided by Spicejet to take one connecting flight from Bangalore to Delhi and from Delhi to Varanasi. The details are:- PNR – O8TTGS , Price – INR 11278, The flight is scheduled to take of at 20:25hrs, 12 Feb from Bangalore and Reach Varanasi at 08:00hrs, 13 Feb with a layover of 6 hours at Delhi Airport. I traveled the first leg from Bangalore to Delhi and was waiting at Delhi airport, to my surprise at 3:40hrs received a message from the spice jet that the flight is delayed due to bad weather and eventually at 06:11hrs again received a message that flight is cancelled now citing technical reason. Due to this sudden cancellation of flight i couldn’t attend the funeral of grandmother and miss the chance of seeing her last time. When i asked for refund the Spice Jet employee said they’ll refund the money only for 2nd leg with explanation that i already traveled the 1st leg. this shows sheer irresponsibility of spicejet towards its customers as if it is right given to drop customers / consumers anywhere and charge as they wish for the partial and uncompleted journeys in prorata. My question is why should I pay for the incomplete journey and what will I do in Delhi if am left, will it becomes my responsibility to come back on my own? And what kind of irresponsible response is given to my grevience no. 258382, which has been closed unilaterally without my expression of satisfaction? Due to this horrible experience i completely lost believe in Spice Jet and their safety policies towards customers.
Having said all this, i want my hard earned money back in full for the reason being spicejet couldn’t deliver the service as promised and left the service incomplete, I couldn’t attend funeral and had to left in pain and grief. I request the respective department to address my issue seriously and resolve immediately by refunding the expenses/ fares for the complete journey. Also, don’t close the issue unless I express my satisfaction to the responses provided.
