Text of Complaint by Amitabh Jain:

  1. Issue regarding unethical practices for Airtel broadband connection No.0120-437593
  2. We are using the Airtel broadband connection for many years and having intermittent technical glitches which is acceptable however speed has always been a big concern for which we are always given an assurance of better services in future, during every complaint
  3. During lockdown also there were regular issues, my daughter who has been attending online classes due to lockdown had to miss multiple classes due to poor or no connectivity.
  4. Inspite of regular complaints there were only assurances and they tried to compensate by not charging for the days when connection was completely down.
  5. Recently one of my friend who has technical knowledge informed me that in our area Airtel has a copper line through which they can give maximum 30 Mbps speed and the speed at our house was only 24 Mbps due to which we face regular speed issues.
  6. During communication over years Airtel never informed us about there inability to provide better speed in our area and kept on charging us Rs.1499 per month with only assurances to improve the speed.
  7. Last month also on the pretext of improving the services they changed our modem and cable however there was no improvement.
  8. I called the Airtel customer care on 121 on 3rd November and explained the complete matter to the executive.
  9. He accepted that they have a copper line in our area which cannot provide speed beyond 30 Mbps and apololozised for the issues at their end.
  10. He also informed that I can revise my package to Rs.499 per month in stead of Rs.1499 per month and all facilities will remain the same.
  11. I got aggitated and asked him the reason for such fraud and unethical business practices.
  12. He had nothing to say apart from apologies and suggestion to revise my plan to Rs.499 per month.
  13. I gave him 24 hours to consult all concerned and get back to me, as confirmed with him over the call, 24 hours duration was sufficient for them to revert with all details.
  14. I have been waiting and did not receive any call or communication from their end till now.
  15. A company which has been advertising to achieve zero customer complaints is using such mal practices to earn money.
  16. We all are going through a very tough phase due to lockdown and heavy salary cuts and managing our kids education with lot of difficulty however they are charging extra money (3 Times) and not providing proper services which is hampering my daughter’s education and future.
  17. My 80 yeras old father is a cancer patient and the only source of entertainment for him is the mobile through which he remains in contact with the family and watch few videos however these bad services of Airtel broadband keep giving him issues and many a times either we use alternative wifi option or mobile hotspot from one of the family member as he gets very impatient.
