Dear Team,

I have been an airtel broadband customer for quite some time now. I started using Airtel broadband on 25 January 2017. Things have been going well, with few ups and down but nothing alarming. Like everything in life, issues occur here as well, but the Airtel team has fixed the issue quite quickly and more importantly with a lot of responsibility and ownership.
Sadly for the past month my experience has been terrible –
1. Frequent disconnection – My connection disconnect at least 3-4 times a day.
  1. It fixes itself at times without doing anything
  2. OR
  3. I restart the router and it fixes itself
  4. OR
  5. I call the Airtel customer care and by the time I reach the customer agent, it fixes itself. I must say it is so terrible to wait on the long IVR process to get to customer care for these trivial issues
  6. Overall, I am very disappointed and I am wasting a lot of time fixing this.
2. Irresponsible attitude by Airtel ground team – My recent complaint number – 119920900 and few others have not been resolved in time. I am currently working from home today and my kid is also attending online classes using the internet. Thus the requirement for a reliable connection is essential. Due to internet working, I was not able to work for the whole day, was forced to take an off from office and my kid also could not attend online school. The issue was very simple that the wires in my house to the router were not connected properly. But the Airtel ground team Mr. Vikram (8448196208) and another person (9599132082) showed no concern. After calling them a few times they finally came to check on the outside pole at 1 PM. I was told by Airtel customer care that someone will visit my house between 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM to check the issue, but the first action was done at 1 PM. At that time, they shared that there is an issue with external wiring and they will need to dig the hole and then fix it. They said it will be fixed in 2-3 hours. I patiently waited and called them at 3 PM to check when the team would arrive. they made some excuse and said it is on the way. After following-up a few times the team arrived at 5 PM, they dig the hole and then asked me to check but the connection was not fixed. I would like to share that at this time neither Mr. Vikram nor the other person with a mobile number (9599132082) came to visit. After trying for some time, the airtel team left without informing that issue is not fixed. I was in the middle of important calls with my US team for office work. Had a very difficult time doing that using a mobile hotspot. At this time, I was very disappointed. When I called Vikram at night, he said sir he has left and we cannot do anything tonight. I shared the problem that I am going through but he had no answer. Next day he comes in the morning and tells me that the wires in the router are not connected properly.
This clearly shows how irresponsibly Airtel staff manhandled my request.
To summarize again, I had to take an off and thus had a financial loss and reputation. loss with my current employer. Next my kid could not attend his school which is a priceless loss.
Now, I am considering moving to JioFiber. I see that they have better plans. I get more data and speed then my current plan at the cost of Rs 699/- and hopefully better service.
I would like to stress again on the point that I was not looking to change anything but the poor and irresponsible customer service by Airtel customer service and staff – Mr. Vikram (8448196208) and another person (9599132082) has pushed me into the direction of considering JioFiber which I am very seriously considering now.
Also in my locality, there are few other folks who are looking for a new airtel connection and I will never recommend them to Airtel anymore. Really sad and stressed out by the irresponsible attitude Airtel has shown.
