I tried calling 022-24148662 for registering a complain many a times, but got no response. Nor dis anyone get back on the email I had sent to the Best grievance team dated 9th July’20.
Hence reaching out to you. My consumer number is 581338021 connection is in the name of Arun Manohar Prabhu.
I would like to draw your attention on the inflated electricity bill issued to me for the month of July’20. While I am made to understand that, there were some power tariff changes and also some approximations/averaging done for the past 3 months, there is no way I find the bill issued to me for the month of July’20 justifiable/explainable.
Following are my concerns:
- As can be seen from the attached historical bills, my average consumption has been in the range of 200 units only. I have moved in to this rental flat in Oct’19 and my bill anytime from then to Jun’20 has been somewhere between Rs.630 to Rs.1550 only. Thus, the demand of Rs.9010 in July is really absurd and certainly likely to be erroneous. Please check my attached history.
- I am not sure what method is used in the bill to calculate the units consumed as 402 and the inflated bill?
- 402 Units is around 4 times my Feb’20 consumption and approx. twice my March’20. This is not justifiable at all even if these are summer months. Specially because, one of my AC’s was not working for majority of the period and another was used intermittently during nights as before during non-summer months. Also, I wasn’t at home for at least 25 days during the April-June period.
- The actual meter reading is abnormally high and when I visited BEST office for meter complaint as well, I was told to come back the next month since there were supposedly just 5 employees who can come over to check over all in the F North ward. I wasn’t even given a complaint form.
Attaching bills from the month of Jan’20 for your reference along with payment history since the time I have moved in the rental flat.
Request your help on such erroneous demand.
Note: I am a tenant and reside in concerned flat since Oct’19. There will be no relevance if bills raised prior to Oct’19 were used for calculations in any way. Owner is well informed and aligned with me on this issue.
