My mother got a message twice on different dates at 6 AM in the morning from VZ-ViCMS with the below details:
“Hello! Thank you for using contentDesc, You have been charged Rs. 7.”
“Hello! Thank you for using SONGS, You have been charged Rs. 20.”
“Hello! Thank you for using ppu_game, You have been charged Rs. 10.” Time of sms 01:09AM
Subsequently my mother’s main balance of Vodafone was reduced. She is using Vodafone for quite some time. I enquired about this from Vodafone customer care and they mentioned that there is no record of any deduction and sent an SMS confirming the same. There was also no VAS attached to my account. However, the charges got deducted from my mother’s main account. I tried to get some information on stopping such services, but it seems that there is no method.
This seems to be a scam as I have not authorized any debit for my Vodafone balance. Browsing the internet, I found that multiple people have been duped in such a way. Need to know the reason for the deduction and the process to stop such deductions.
