We booked a ticket from MMT for Air India flight from Delhi to kolkata on Sep 28, 2021. Two days before the flight we got to know that there are heavy rains in Kolkata and a RED ALERT has been issued because of the rains and approaching cycloan. I called Air India to inquire about changing the travel dates, and I got to know that even if I made a booking from a third party, I can still change the date one time without paying any extra fee but the MMT website was charging me Rs. 6000 on behalf of AIR INDIA for changing the date.
To avoid the extra fee, we had to travel on the said date and had to sit and wait for a clear weather for 4 days during the rain. It clearly shows how these agencies are extracting money from helpless consumers.
I have a phone recording of Air India as well as the screenshots of the money asked for a date change.
I couldn’t find any official MMT consumer redressal website to officially file a complaint so I have decided to go ahead and challenge this in the consumer court meanwhile, i would also request MMT officials to send me an official reply in this context.
If there’s any other consumer who reads this complain and wants to suggest anything regarding strengthening my case, is more than welcome to forward their suggestions.
