Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Fraudulent Loan Disbursement and Harassment by Rupee112 Loan App
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against the loan app Rupee112 for unethical practices, fraudulent disbursement, and continuous harassment.
In May 2025, I availed a loan of ₹120,000 from Rupee112, with a due date of 12th June 2025. However, I received only ₹104,000 after deductions for processing fees and GST. The total repayment amount demanded was ₹164,000, reflecting an exorbitantly high interest rate.
Unfortunately, I met with a serious accident and underwent in-plant surgery, which led to financial hardship. I was unable to resume work and had multiple ongoing liabilities. Due to this, I could not repay the full amount immediately. I reached out to the lender, requesting either a grace period or a fair settlement once I resumed work and received my salary.
I also emailed their customer support with hospital reports and photographs explaining my situation, but received no response.
Instead, I was subjected to harassment by their collection agents via WhatsApp, where I was insulted and called a “beggar” for requesting a settlement. The agents were aggressive, refused to listen, and threatened to send recovery agents to my home without notice. They also threatened to contact my employer’s HR department.
Despite raising multiple grievances, no action was taken. Recently, they escalated the harassment by calling and threatening my sister and mother, using abusive language.
This behavior has caused me severe mental distress and is a clear violation of RBI guidelines on fair lending and recovery practices.
I respectfully request the following actions:
Immediate investigation into Rupee112 for misconduct, harassment, and violation of RBI norms.
Direction to the lender to restructure or offer a fair settlement of the loan.
Legal action for breach of consumer rights and privacy.
Compensation for the mental trauma and harassment caused.
I also urge the authorities to take strict action against such fraudulent apps and ensure they are banned to protect other unsuspecting users.
