I had a credit card with RBL bank and I was paying on time. I missed one payment last year and someone call & abuse me and misrepresented themselves as Mr Ganesh Gaitonde (which is a fictitious character from a OTT series). I have all call recording which was previously submitted in a RBI complaint as well. I had received a call from a lady also a few months back, who apparently was investigating the complaint but did not hear anything post that. Today again I got a call from 9167995886 for collection on this card and I told him I am busy and disconnected the call. Later I received WhatsApp messages from 9833609301 threatening to call my family members and payments needs to be made today. (Screenshot attached)
He even called a old family friend / colleague (Candida Fernandes) who later called and informed me and she even file a police complaint against this person for threatening her, saying he has her number and address and can come to her place, etc.
I have gone over some complaints filed by different complainants against RBL and there are of similar nature. It is a humble request, if someone can actually take action against such banks and their illegal collection agencies.
Today the entire world is going through a financial crisis considering what this pandemic has done to millions across the globe. Debtors like me understand we owe the bank and want to pay but in this current situation we have to chose between taking care of our basic food & shelter needs or paying high creditor bills.
This HARASSMENT needs to STOP. Please if someone reading this takes action you may be able to save some lives. There are many who are taking their lives as they are not able to pay their debts and such harrowing calls pushes them one step closer to taking their life.
PLEASE HELP STOP THIS harassment!!!!!!!
