On 2nd September, 2020, I was offered a work from home typing job from Freelancerforms.in to fill 700 forms in 7 days in exchange for ₹25,000. I was asked to submit an e-signature on their website for their agreement letter along with a copy of my Aadhaar card and a photograph. I was also told that if I was unable to finish the work within the 7 days, I will have to pay ₹3999 as penalty charges.
On 9th September, 2020, I contacted the person who approached me first, +917289873969 in order to inform them about the incomplete work. As I began asking them for more time to pay them, they started to threaten to sue me. Minutes after I had finally paid them the ₹3999 penalty charges in order to avoid the mess, they started threatening me more about having to pay ₹8000 for the termination of the agreement, which was never mentioned to me before. This was when I received fake eCourts messages that mentioned about a case being filed against me and legal proceedings taking place. Seconds after having received these messages, I got a call from +918866300945, identifying himself as Advocate Rathore, informing me about a case being filed against me from Freelancerforms.in for not paying ₹8000 for the termination of the agreement. He also threatened me that I would have to pay a lot more, like ₹40k-50k, if I didn’t pay them the required charges right away.
I was also constantly threatened to pay these charges within 5-10 minutes in order to avoid the legal proceedings.
After asking them for proof about the mentioned ₹8000 charges in their agreement, they started to threaten me more about directly meeting me at the Surat court in the next few days.
Finally when I started gathering more information about the website, I found multiple complaints about the website being fraudulent and a big scam. When I sent them screenshots of the other complaints and asked them to pay me back, they started ghosting me and avoiding my messages and calls.
The next morning I received another eCourts message asking me to report at the Surat Session court on 14th September, 2020 for the same
