Text of Complaint by Amritanshu Upadhyay:

This is regarding a fake call I received this morning saying my Amazon prime account and my number received a gift on account of the contest that was conducted during the amazon sale.

 

I received the call from the this number from a person named Rahul Singh from sales and promotions department – 91-8515839918

 

I was given a list of gift options and was asked to choose any one of the gifts as below.

 

1. Dell laptop 15.6 inches

2. Sony LED TV 40 inches

3. Apple iPhone 3 plus 32 GB

4. Voltage AC 1.5 tons

5. LG refrigerator 350 lts double door

 

I selected the 2nd option and they gave me a reference number of the product.Along with this they asked me to select any product work not less than 4999 and buy that product and along with this order they will send the gift product also.

 

I selected products on Amazon worth rs 5043 and added it to cart. They asked me to make an online payment using UPI and not the regular mode of amazon transaction.

 

The sent an amount of Rs. 4979 through Paytm UPI transfer to the below account.

 

BENEFICIARY NAME: AMAZON INDIA

IFSC code – PYTM0123456

Gowtham Budha Nagar, Noida Branch, Uttar Pradesh.

Account Number – I don’t remember (but available on Paytm)

Amount transferred – 4979

 

Rest 64 rupees was to be paid but I Iot a doubt at this stage and called the Amazon customer care who confirmed it’s a fake and spam call.

 

I lost an amount 4979 because of this fraud.
