This is a complaint against Fraud activity by Urban Company. In the name of service, they have cheated me and I would like to caution all those who wish to take services of Urban Clap for their AC services.
Though we understand its easy door step service, but mind it, you ensure that the services provided have warranty when you spend few pennies from your pocket.
Sharing my dreadful story with Urban Company :
On January 13, 2024, I had registered complaint with Urban Company for non-working of my home AC. Technician was assigned and he mentioned it was issue of “PCB”. The quote of INR 4328/- was shared. Since this had to be repaired, I did agree. He took the PCB for repair and fixed it after a week. He switched on the AC and it was working for the 5 mins, while he was at home. Since it was January and a colder month , we never used AC post the repair.
On Feb 25th, after a gap from Jan 13 – Feb 25 , I switched on the AC and to my surprise, it was not working. Raised a complaint again and then Techician mentioned the same complaint “PCB need to be repaired”. I told him that it was just repaired a month ago and we have not even used it post that. However the technician said there is no other solution than I pay him another INR 4500/- and get it repaired.
To my dismay, the warranty period mentioned in app was only one month. While in my conversations with the customer care executives and the seniors to whom it was escalated had mentioned, such warranties are for 180 days. So, I would conclude – the Technician never did repair the PCB and for which both the Technician and UC at large made money. Secondly, UC gave me only 1 month warranty instead of 180 days as informed by the executives and they had admitted their mistakes.
I am posting this on all Whatsapp groups, Social medias (insta, fb, twitter) , filing a police complaint after informing Urban clap. It’s a humble request to all those who use UC to be very careful when you use their services and ensure you have proper warranties for the repairs.
I would also like to warn here, that the technicians after their services share their telephone numbers and request to call them directly for future AC services and assures rate shall be lesser than what is quoted by UC. Which itself makes one sure, that the work done by them are bound to have issues. UC doesn’t have a robust process , please be careful. They do not have customer care email address, escalation matrix on their app /site. Reaching out to them is a pain! Hence, think twice before your spend is what I would like to say.
