Text of Complaint by Vikash Raj:

Hi team,

I am writing to file a complaint against Royals Moonlight Resort (Management & Sales team) regarding the misleading and wrong information provided along with unethical and unruly behavior which led me to force purchase their holiday package.

I was on a trip with my wife to Goa where one of their sales member stopped us by saying he needs help for his internship feedback and narrated us a small story as how poor he is and he needs some support to continue with his internship. He also mentioned that we need to spare just 30 minutes and write him a good feedback before his seniors so that he can continue his internship. We agreed to help considering the fact that sparing 30 minutes won’t be an issue for us but could help someone and that’s where we made the mistake. He also mentioned that by doing this, we can get a assured gift too.

The moment we stepped inside the place, one of the sales team guy started stating the company’s profile and how they are best providers of holiday packages etc. We mentioned that we are not here to buy any package but he along with his team members insisted that they are not selling anything and we just need to be there for 30 minutes and that mere presence will help them etc. Later post they explained their packages and membership details, we mentioned that as discussed earlier, we are not interested in any purchases and upon their continuous request, when I was constantly denying, one of them started his rude behavior and started talking in a stern voice.

He started stating that why did we waste their time etc. I mentioned that we told in the beginning about not purchasing anything for now and he wasn’t listening instead he was smiling and mentioned that he is kind of a local guy and he knows where we have taken our stay. Since I was with my family so I was kind of forced to buy the membership.

Also, after signing the agreement and swiping my credit card for Rs.55000/-, they went inside and changed the stay criteria too. The tickmark which was made in front of proper room was converted to studio apartment. In their policy, they have mentioned that a cancellation can be done within 7 days of purchase without any deduction but no one responded to my emails and calls till now as it has been 25 days since the purchase was made.

My membership is due to start from January 2025 and since I have not used any of the service, I sent them multiple emails for cancellation but only got one response where they mentioned that they will take the cancellation charges of Rs.25000/. This is clear extortion by the company since they never respond to calls and emails and their sales team is scamming people.

I trust that the Consumer Court will take the necessary action to address this grievance and ensure justice.
