This mail is to report a fraudulent activity that occurred in my Mobikwik Zip account at around 10 pm, IST on 6th November, 2023. I received 2 simultaneous calls in my number from Mobikwik , a money lending and crediting app that I use and as I received the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) call, from the fintech company, The computerised voice claimed that my account was accessed by someone else, and asked me to type the OTP that I received on the dial pad while being on call . As soon as that was completed, the hackers got access to my Mobikwik wallet and transacted a total of 69,460 in 2 transactions of 60,000 and 9460 respectively. The hackers sent continuous OTPs into my account.
I am unaware of what further steps in terms of security must I partake in order to stop this fraudulence to spread further and also recover the fraudulent transactions at the earliest. I have also lodged FIRs with the local police station and Cyber Crime Cell to assist further on this.
