As described by another person – I looked up an ad on garagesale Facebook this is a trusted page and I have previously got many things from here – however there was an add for a cycle there that I was looking at purchasing and a Watsapp number
I called the he number and Dharam Singh picked up and said that he was from the Indian Army and was transferring in two days and needed to sell of a cycle that he got as a gift.
I said ok I would like to buy it and he promptly said he will deliver and I can pay post delivery the charges of 5000 rupees + courier fees
I agreed, however a few minutes later he said that I need to first pay the courier charges for the product to be delivered – we argued a lot but I assumed this is cause they were not sure we would pay once the cycle was received .. so we paid the initial 540
Then at the delivery time they asked us to pay 2600 for some tracking ID and transaction numbers only then they could courier it to us (which again was odd) so we said we will come and pick the item up and then the person disconnected and has not pick the call
Also everytime there is a concern he connects you to some courier manager Satish kumar and paytm payment is also made to Satish kumar image below of the number used for paytm
Finally I got onto a video call and this is the image he showed me as his face attached below
The whole time he kept saying this is the Indian army and you should trust it and it seems like this is been working for them
