On January 15, 2024, I unexpectedly received a notification of INR 2100 credited to my account, with no prior knowledge of the transaction. The following day, on the morning of the 16th at 11:30, I received another credit notification of the same amount. Subsequently, I began receiving WhatsApp messages demanding the immediate repayment of a loan amounting to 5750 INR to avoid penalties.

The messages, originating from entities using names such as FRONT LOAN and FLASH LOAN (constantly changing names), threatened harassment of my contacts and family if the repayment was not made promptly. Furthermore, they claimed that my pictures would be uploaded on social media with explicit content, and morphed images would be sent to my contacts. The messages continued to flood in, with communication also coming from a party identifying as REALoanTECSTATION, urging me to provide the requested funds.

Interestingly, no payment details were shared; instead, they provided a link leading to the download of a potentially harmful application. Concerned about these threats and activities, I promptly filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police.

Upon reviewing my bank transaction details, it appears that the credited money originated from a Kotak Mahindra bank account. While the source of the funds may be genuine, the demand for repayment under such threatening circumstances raises serious concerns.
