A man called me to buy filtration components from my company through India Mart. He claimed to be an army personnel calling from Army Canteen Delhi. I confirmed the price and other details after which he sent me a purchase order on Indian Army letter head. After receiving the same I asked him to transfer the amount of ₹42,000 before despatch. He said the Accounts person will call before transferring, namely Major Kuldeep. He called me and said the call was being recorded and he will pay through some army card for which I need to verify my account by transferring 5₹ to their HDFC account. I did that and received the money back immediately to which he said this procedure needs to be done for the whole amount of ₹42,000. I sensed something wrong here and demanded the Purchase order on mail from Official mail id of Army. To which he sent a mail through a common mail id using Gmail which gave me confirmation of a fraud. After that he called me and I said I can’t provide anything to him to which he started abusing me.
