A week ago I got a call From a company called Tech Caster saying they would provide online data entry jobs. As a person who lost my job due to the COVID pandemic, I considered this to be an opportunity and joined. This job contains 700 forms which we have to submit in 7 days with 90% accuracy. After a week I got a call saying that my account got froze and that I had to pay 7999/- to unfreeze which was supposed to be refundable. But I asked them that I cannot pay the money then they told me that I had to pay 5000/- for quitting the job but I thought that it would be beneficial if I gave the 7999/- which was refundable. So I paid it after that my account got unfroze and I did my job and submitted it now those people called me and told me that i have not completed the forms with 90% accuracy and so i would be terminated. Then the next day a lawyer named ANIL TYAGI called me and said that he is an advocate from tech caster. He told me to pay 20,500 if I wanted to end the case outside the court and told me that if I didn’t then he will forward the case to court and then I will have to pay around 90,000-1,00.000/- to deal it in the court. He accused me that I had breached the contract and cornered me and mentally applied pressure on me to pay the amount. I cried and begged him but he was indifferent. I hung up on him and was almost going to pay the money. Then I just gave a call to a lawyer in a firm called Prime Legal and then they told me that I don’t have to pay anything as it may be a fraud. Then I met various other lawyers and they told me the same. But still, I was scared as I thought the agreement might be real as there were red numbers On the front page of the contract but then I stumbled upon another similar case with the same company, same agreement numbers, and case. They even sent me a few messages saying the court has accepted the case under this and that no. along with FIR no. etc., which also happens to be the same in many cases.
