This is regarding a fake call I received this morning saying my Amazon account and my number received a gift on account of the contest that was conducted during the Amazon sale.
I received the call from the this number from a person named SONALI MEHTA from sales and promotions department – 91-9477091722
I was given a list of gift options and was asked to choose any one of the gifts as below.
1. Dell laptop 15.6 inches
2. Sony LED TV 43 inches
3. Apple phone 11 256 GB
4. Voltas AC 2 tons
5. LG refrigerator double door
I selected the 1st option and they gave me a reference number of the product – B08QCKPLZX which was the number for the LAPTOP and asked me to add it into cart. Along with this they asked me to select any product worth not less than 5000 and buy that product and along with this order they will send the gift product also.
I selected JBL SOUNDBAR and added it to cart it coasted me around 5999. They asked me to make an online payment using my net banking and not the regular mode of Amazon transaction.
They asked me that company is offering must cashback so I have to first send some money.
I transferred an amount of Rs. 5999 through IMPS transfer to the account given below.

Amount transferred – 5999
Then the lady mars Somali Mehta transferred the call to their dispatch manager ABHAY KUMAR.
Then they asked me forward a screenshot of amount transferred on whets app number this.”9874623194” .I forwarded the screen shot to this number.
Later on the forwarded a confirmation of the order and forwarded a puff bill of dell laptop.
Later then that guy came up saying to transfer a GST amount of 11,999 in the same account as gst. And then I got to understand it may be a fraud call. And they forworded me a pdf with gstin no.
I got a doubt at this stage and called the Amazon customer care who confirmed it’s a fake and spam call and they confirmed that there is no any offer form the company.
And they also adviced me to complaint about this call as soon as possible to cyber cell.
I lost an amount 5999 because of this fraud.
I beg you to help me retrieve my hard earned money.
Your immediate action and help will be highly appreciated.
And I request such individuals must be dealt severely so that our citizens do not fall into pray of these individuals.
