I purchased new maruti baleno car and after one month I started getting call for road side assistance card. on 2nd Dec 2023 at 11:55 AM I got call from fraud number- 9257022380, lady claimed that she is calling from Maruti head office, said we are sending card at your place (mentioned my correct address).
When you receive the card you have to pay 3500, It will offer you road side assistance for 15 years.
On 11th Dec 2023 I received the card and paid 3500 to ekart delivery person. When I saw the card, there is no mention of Maruti on it, later I spoke with Maruti sales person he also confirmed that there is no such plan from company side. After this I came to know that I got scammed and now want to lodge cyber complaint as well. When tried to call the number given on card it says “Number does not exist”. When tried to call on the fraud number its also switched off, truecaller showing its location as Rajasthan. I am surprised to see how these scammers get the new vehicle purchaser’s name and correct address (this is the reason most people think its genuine). This means either the vehicle company or the insurance provider are selling customer’s data or they have not secured this data properly.
