Got a call from someone pretending to be from Amazon’s Gift’s & Promotions department (Phone# 9830264219).

You have been selected as a winner for a prize.

You can choose between 5 prizes. Laptop, TV, thing3, thing4, thing5.

I selected TV, they ask you to check out their offered TV by model# on Amazon.in (It was some Sony Bravia).

To get the gift you have to buy something from Amazon worth at-least ₹5K. I said, I will purchase Amozon Pay 5k gift card.

They then say talk a whole lot of bull about how Amazon to make it seem like they are the real deal

They keep repeating that the gift (TV) and your selected >₹5K purchase will show up in your Amazon cart

Catch is that you have to pay them for the ₹5K purchase via NEFT or Google-Pay and some other wallets

I said I would pay via NEFT and they asked which Bank, I said ICICI but they said me pay by UPI, or PayTm.

I ask her to share online transection link but they said this transection only done over call.

When her account person ask me to add money in Paytm and he told me to add account detail, at that point time I felt its faurd.

They try to convince me but when I told them I will file FIR in police they cut the call.
- If Amozon.in would have such offer, then they will directly send you notification on send mail to my register mail ID.

Anyway, I told him that I am not paying anything until I can confirm this is really an Amazon account.
