I have opted for monthly 236 rupee plan(200 + tax) for safe custody of my Airtel broadband connection. Completed 118 days now.
Received a call last week claiming that they are from Airtel customer care. They are asking me to deactivate my safe custody or change the plan to Rs 499/month to extend the safe custody. Otherwise my connection will be disconnected they said. I told them don’t take any action, I can do if I need any change myself by using Airtel thanks App or calling customer care if needed.
Later I called Airtel customer care suspecting they are not genuine people who called me earlier and clarified about the safe custody rules. The lady attended my call confirmed there is no issue with my connection and I can continue in safe custody any number of days as I am paying monthly safe custody changes, and when needed I can deactivate safe custody. She also mentioned no one will ask a 999 plan customer to degrade to 499 plan. With the confidence with her conversation I continued without any further action on that.
Today again I got a call saying my connection is in safe custody more than 118 days we can’t extend it.. I told them that they are giving wrong information and I already checked and clarified it with real Airtel customer care and they confirmed no such issues. Immediately they disconnected the call. I received the call from 8147933631 number today.
If someone can check if this is a fraud attempt will be great!!
