Around 1st week of April, I booked a PG in Delhi, named The Hostel Yard, Saffron House, J13B, Block J, Kailash Colony, Greater Kailash, New Delhi, Delhi 110048 1 month stay for May. We were made to deposit a security amount Rs. 5000 in advanced. No agreement regarding the same was presented. 4-5 days later, I cancelled the booking due to personal reasons. I talked to the owner regarding the refund and he conveyed to me that the same would be provided by the company house once I write a mail to them. They didn’t respond. I talked to the accountant and he told me that security money is non-refundable. I again talked to the manager regarding the same, asking why there is no legal agreement putting such to an effect. Neither I was informed about such policy in person. When I asked him, he conveyed to him that such agreement is given for long term stay bookings and I will be paid back soon. It’s been almost a month and he has stopped replying to my calls and messages and further went ahead to block me. Being a non-resident, it’s impossible for me to personally go there. This is clear violation of the law. I never agreed to such security deposit to be kept if cancellation to that effect takes place. My money has been withheld by this scam company since nothing was conveyed to me by oral means. There’s no contract with the effect to the same. I have been given false hopes and innumerable delays regarding the same. I demand my money back.
