Fraud and improper faulty bill generated by Vodafone Idea India
Can you imagine your pre-paid number for which your monthly plan is of Rs. 399 and you get an invoice for the amount to be paid at Rs. 78071.This fraud happened with my husband and how these MNCs create ruckus in a person’s life and make them roam around their outlets and corporate offices.
The Scenario is such: We went to Maldives for out honeymoon on the dates mentioned as: 30/January/2022 – 3/February/2022, we just switched on our phones and as expected there was no network so we bought a sim in Maldives itself for our personal use in the aforementioned tenure and also we did not receive any text or notification from Vodafone Idea regarding the usage or any warning  or any maximum limit as such. Also as there was no network received on the phone we kept it aside and didn’t bother. Later when we were back in India and the bill came in, it gave us a literal shock. How can a bill be raised of Rs. 78071 on the monthly subscription plan of Rs. 399, which is so minimal???
Is there no maximum limit? Or Is this just a tactic by Vodafone Idea to burn a hole in their user’s pocket?or Maybe just a trick to make a fool out of people?
To get some clarity on this shocking situation we went to Vodafone Idea store in Lajpat Nagar-2 Market and when they verified our bill they said you will have to pay this amount or your number will be not serviceable, and this bill amount came up because you switched on your phone and it was on for a couple of hours more, although there was no network and the device was not used for calls or internet too. And when we asked about the notifications part that wasn’t there at all, we got a lame reply that how can the notification come when there was no network at all. Later 5-10 times people from Vodafone India came to our place saying that you just have to talk to the officials and come to a negotiable amount to be paid. But the store people did not help us out in any way.
After several discussions with the Vodafone Idea Team, the amount negotiated was Rs. 5000, and these discussions happen on call but when today we said today give us the link on which we can make the payment then they said please visit our corporate office which is there in Sarita Vihar at A-19, Sarita Vihar, Delhi, where we met Ms. Ariba from the Collections/recovery department said that the amount you have to pay will be Rs. 31,000.That was such a shocker again and showcases how these service providers create such a situation for the customers where in today mobile is a necessity just like the basic survival items and how they leverage on this requirement of a person. 
This number was being used by my husband for more than 16 years and was in use for each and every contact be it for personal or professional use. All these months have created disturbance and loss of clients & business to my husband. We wasted our time & resources while visiting Vodafone Idea centers and this fraud happened to us.
@VodafoneIdea is this the kind of fraud you people do? Is there any justification for the kind of Invoice you have built?
