Text of Complaint by Sourabh Parekh:

**Complaint Regarding Violation of Consumer Rights by Airtel Limited**

**Introduction**

This complaint, lodged on May 9, 2024, highlights the infringement of my consumer rights as per the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, by Airtel Limited. It pertains to the misrepresentation of broadband plans, provision of unreliable internet service, deficient customer support, and imposition of unjust charges on my account.

**Account Details:**
– DSL: 0778217575707_wifi
– DTH: 3058016334-001

**Misrepresentation and Unreliable Service**

On January 28, 2024, a sales representative named Khush (Phone: 093033 31853) misrepresented a broadband plan priced at ₹1099 (inclusive of GST). Under pressure to make an upfront payment, I paid for three months along with a security deposit of ₹1000, totaling ₹4300.

Contrary to the promised plan, the bill amounted to ₹1301 in April. Since installation on January 28, 2024, the internet service has been unreliable, as evidenced by screenshots. Despite numerous email complaints to customer care on January 28, February 29, and March 9 onwards, no service requests were acknowledged, nor was any resolution provided.

**False Promises, Delays, and Unwanted Charges**

Since April 15, 2024, I have consistently requested disconnection via calls and emails to prevent further charges:

– A promise made on April 15th regarding disconnection within 2-3 working days was unfulfilled.
– Despite repeated follow-ups, no solutions were offered, with executives extending deadlines and the due amount rising (currently around ₹1000).
– Airtel executives Manoj Nag (9981751437) and Rituraj Ojha (9981824036) assured resolution without additional payment and offered a refund during a home visit, but they are now unreachable.
– Despite disconnection requests initiated on April 15, Airtel continues to levy charges, amounting to nearly ₹1000, which is unacceptable.

**Requested Relief**

I appeal to the Consumer Forum to:

– Instruct Airtel to refund the security deposit of ₹1000.
– Waive any charges incurred post the official disconnection request on April 15, 2024.
– Compensate me for the mental distress and inconvenience caused by Airtel’s misleading practices and subpar service.

**Attached Documents**

– Copy of Payment Receipt (₹4300) dated January 28, 2024
– Screenshots of email complaints with respective dates
– Airtel Broadband Account details (DSL & DTH)

**Verification**

I solemnly affirm that the information provided in this complaint is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
