I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue I have faced with a recent purchase from Flipkart online.
On October 16th, I bought a light from Flipkart and received it on October 21st.
Unfortunately, the product was defective, prompting me to initiate a pickup request for a refund within the stipulated window until October 28th. I followed the process and arrange for pickup and refund during the timeline mentioned. To my surprise, my request was canceled by Flipkart on November 3rd without any prior notification.
Upon contacting their customer care, I was informed that there was a system glitch and automatically canceled my request, and I was expected to continuously follow up after cancellation. This, in my opinion, is an unreasonable expectation, as customers rely on the assumption that once a return and refund are accepted, the process will be completed without constant monitoring.
Despite explaining the situation to Flipkart’s customer care, they shifted the blame to me for not repeatedly checking the status and calling them again and again. I just conveyed them how we will know about auto cancellation when we haven’t received any call from their end and we do have other priorities the entire day and this is not my job. I believe it is the responsibility of the company to keep customers informed of any changes and ensure a transparent and reliable refund process.
I kindly request your intervention in safeguarding consumers against such practices. I urge you to investigate this matter and take appropriate action against Flipkart to prevent such fraudulent activities from affecting others in our society.
