Text of Complaint by Ashmita Sarkar:

We have purchased a LG 50 inch 4K Smart TV from Amazon India 0n 19th Jan schemed under Republic Day Sale. The product was delivered the next day by Amazon and installation was carried out by LG technical support team on 20th Jan evening. The next morning i.e. on 21st Jan we have started noticing a black spot on the bottom right corner of the TV and we immediately called Amazon Customer care department asking for a replacement. We were told by them that inspection is a standard policy and it is mandatory for a replacement process to take place. The inspection was scheduled for 22nd Jan in between 2-6 PM, but the person called up next morning and told us he will not be coming due to some meetings scheduled already for him. We called up Amazon and told the same thing, they kept on pushing the inspection date to 25th to 27th Jan and so on. As it was utterly frustrating for us we started writing Tweets on Social Media about the service etc. The product was faulty and we have paid in full which is quite a lot of money. Then all of a sudden the technician visited on 24th Jan which was never informed to us by the CC executive, he stayed at our house for 5 mins and took pictures and was in tremendous rush to go. He informed us the resolution will be done by today which is 25th Jan. Now today, the customer care executive called us at 2:30 PM saying that he cannot replace the product as it is not available with the seller and this product is only eligible for refund and not replacement. Now, the fun part is that we could clearly see from amazon website itself that the same new product is not only available with the seller (Cloudtail) but also a 10 days replacement policy is eligible for the product. The people working in amazon are just like robots, they keep on repeating about their systems and policies and not considering our opinions. We have been repeatedly telling them that we don’t want a refund we want a replacement but they are arguing about their own systems, policies, sellers etc which we have nothing to do with. We are confused with whom should we talk to about this matter and is there a sensible person in this big esteemed company who will understand our concerns and resolve them logically.
