I am a consumer of WBSEDCL with Consumer ID 112257659 at Genexx Valley, Joka, Kolkata -700104. After getting a bill of comparatively lower amount in September, 2020 for the month of December Qtr, 2020 (Oct to Dec), I checked the Meter reading of my Flat and found it to be Idle/Out of order. I lodged an on line complaint with WDSEDCL Consumer Complaint site on 28th Sept, 2020 under Docket number 33975930. After a fortnight I rechecked my Electricity Meter and found it to be still idle. Surprisingly, the WBSEDCL had in the meantime closed my Complaint on 29th Sept, 2020 at their Grievance cell as resolved. Being aggrieved, on 19th Oct, 2020 I lodged a Complaint against WBSEDCL. After a week I found that WBSEDCL had reported the issue as REFERRED TO CUSTOMER SUPPORT at their site on 19th Oct, 2020. Since no one from WBSEDCL bothered to take any action on the issue, I being a RESPONSIBLE Citizen of the Country, lodged another online complaint at WBSEDCL Consumer Complaint site on 29th Oct, 2020 under Docket Number 34541318 with request for repairing/replacing the IDLE Electric Meter of my Flat. What is most obnoxious that on the very next day i.e. on 30th Oct, 2020 this issue was shown as Closed /resolved at WBSEDCL Consumer Complain site while TILL DATE THE ELECTRIC METER OF MY FLAT IS IDLE. To add SALT AND INSULT to my injury for trying to become responsible and honest, this WBSEDCL company has slapped a bill on me on 22nd December, 2020 for March Qtr, 2021 (Jan to Mar) with a FALSE & FICTITIOUS Meter reading with remarks as “Above reading on estimated basis due to seems Defective Meter“. That means, even for the intermittent periods when my Flat was under lock and key between Oct,2020 to Dec, 2020, as per WBSEDCL policy a Consumer has to pay for Electricity according to their whims and fancy. I and my Wife being a Senior Citizen couple are deeply harassed both mentally and financially with such INHUMAN behaviour of WBSEDCL officials. We seek justice from WBSEDCL by withdrawing the Fictitious and Estimated Bill immediately and restore proper functioning of our Electric Meter immediately and bill us accordingly. In our lifetime, we have NEVER DEFAULTED TO PAY OUR ELECTRICITY BILLS WITHIN THE FIRST DUE DATE.
