I live in Germany and working for reputed MNC with 14 years’ experience. Today morning, while on the train I got a call to my mobile from an India Landline number 040 48121310 (It’s from Hyderabad). A girl introduced herself from a SeekCareerz consultancy and informed that she is assisting for jobs in Gulf, Middleast, and Malaysia etc.

She told, my profile matches to 6 openings and would you be interested? I said ‘Yes’ then she started saying 1 or 2 job profile description and informed they would offer a Salary pack of €6500 per month. Here, I got the 1st knock to instigate my mind as fake!!! as €6500 per month is a huge amount and that too, she told it’s a tax-free as its gulf country. Then I continued listening patiently, she started saying all nice stuff like free car for travel, housing accommodation and perdiems etc etc. So, my intuition of fake getting firmed . She said HR from the direct company will contact you and arrange the interviews etc and no intermediator and so on.

Finally came to the actual serious note, you would have to pay XXX amount to support you throughout the recruitment process and we will refund you the same once the recruiting company provides that amount to them. Immediately, I interrupted and asked why a candidate should pay the amount to consultancy. Why don’t you get it from the organization directly then she told if I accept the offer and didn’t join?

I retaliated with a similar question after you get the money and never offered the service? Then she started blabbering, we are reputed organization etc. Then I told, I’m not a fool and been in IT industry for more than 10 years and been into recruitment, so don’t bluff me… She got enraged and raised her voice and said, we are not cheating company etc. Then I didn’t want to waste my time further and kept the phone down.

Later once I was back from office to home, browsed their website and checked on Google too. It was confirmed as 100% fake company then I called Hyderabad cybercrime department from Germany spending my international call but pity thing is, police asking me to come in person :).

I told, I’m not in the country (NRI) and cannot come in person to make the complaint but I don’t want others to be fooled if they weren’t aware of this, so please take action but police informed, I should complain in Germany then German police will send instruction to Indian police then they will take action. I was puzzled and lost my hope, it’s not gonna work.

So, spreading this write-up on consumer complaint to make awareness and at least others will read and understand to be safe.

Guys – Keep one thing in mind, no consultancy will seek money from the candidate. Only organization will pay the recruitment consultancy for their service after successful recruitment of candidate and if they join to complete the probation period etc. So, Don’t get cheated, be clever and safe.
