I am student studying BBA and I was searching for some part time job so I could earn some extra money. After some days, I got a call from some girl for a work from home job of captcha for a company called DP Technologies (as written in the mail) of Gujarat, but when I received an email from some lawyer it was written as EBOOKTYPER. They told me that I have to complete 10000 captchas within 10 days with 90% accuracy. I thought that it was legit so I agreed to it and they asked me for an ID proof so I gave them a photo of my AADHAR card. And then they sent me an agreement where it was written that if I cannot complete my work I have to pay 6900/- which I didn’t have any idea when I registered for it. They only made me aware of it after the registration process. Then they provided me with the login information, i.e., my customer id and password which took some time. The server of the domain they provided was so slow that no one could even hit the target within a month. And no matter how much time of my entire day I spent doing the work, they always showed me lesser number which wasn’t possible. I used to spend 12 hours doing that and in the report they showed me only 500 completed and they showed that maximum among those were wrong even when they were right. I checked the entire report myself and even called their helpline and they completely denied of this happening. I even emailed the screenshots underlining the captchas which were right but in the report it said that they were wrong but there was no reply from their side. So I knew that this was fraud and they were trying to scam me, so I sent an email and stopped doing the work. Now they are threatening me and harassing me to pay 8000/- or else police will arrest me they are sending email from some Advocate Manoj from Ahmedabad and asking to give a police inspector the said amount of money and they are also sending me messages threatening me saying that police will come and arrest me if I don’t pay up. And this is not just me, I was researching about them and there are a lot of other people who got scammed just like me. They also have my AADHAR details and I am worried if they do something illegal with it. Please take necessary actions against them as they are scamming and robbing people off of their hard earned money. Kindly take action as soon as possible.
